One of Canada's longest serving mayors is getting frustrated with the three main federal party leaders who are persistently ignoring the issues of poverty and inequality.
Mayor Mike Bradley, of Sarnia, Ontario, says he is speaking out more lately for measures to deal with inequality - such as a basic income guarantee policy - "because others don't."

The free information session, open to the public, will be held May 28 at Living Hope Christian Reformed Church at 1281 Exmouth St. from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
It's being sponsored by the Poverty Reduction Network of Sarnia-Lambton.
A national plan called Dignity for All: A National Anti-Poverty Plan for Canada, has been by created by Citizens for Public Justice and Canada Without Poverty over the last five years, and its content will be presented at the two-hour session.

Renee Flynn knows all too well how difficult it can be to escape the vicious cycle of poverty.
Born into what she calls "generational poverty," Flynn was kicked out of her alcoholic mother's house at the age of 16 and fell in with a rough crowd, leading to drug experimentation and a string of abusive relationships.

Officials with Lambton County Circles will host representatives from three Ontario communities next week in an effort to expand the groundbreaking anti-poverty initiative.
"We're just thrilled," said Gayle Montgomery, Circles coordinator and national recruiter for the program. "It gives us a chance to really showcase the community and everything that has happened to us in the last four years."
